Privacy policy
Eva is an AI member for private Discord servers. She only reads people who choose to join her. This page explains what she keeps, who else sees it, and how to leave or erase it.
In short
- Eva reads only members who press Join. Anyone who hasn't joined is not read, stored, answered or imported.
- Joining means you are 18 or older and agree that Eva keeps what you write in her channels.
- Leave stops her reading you at once. Forget me also erases what she kept, within 24 hours.
- We don't sell data, show ads, or train AI models on your messages.

Joining
You join by pressing Join: with /eva join in Discord, on the Join card an admin posts in a channel, or at evachat.app/app. Before you join you confirm two things: you are 18 or older, and Eva may keep what you write in her channels.
Until you join, Eva doesn't read you. If you mention her, she doesn't answer; at most every 12 hours she posts a short invite to join. Messages you wrote before you joined are never read or imported.
What Eva keeps
Only from members who joined, and only from the moment they joined:
- Messages in the channels the server's admins chose for her: text, your Discord name and ID, time, and which message it replies to.
- Direct messages you send her, if the admins turned DMs on. Each DM is its own chat and is never shown in the group.
- Images and files you send her.
- Memory summaries she writes from the chat so she can remember it later, her own replies, and reminders you ask her for.
- Voice, only if the server turned voice on and you opt in with
/voice: a text transcript. No audio is kept. - Your choices: when you joined and which version of this page you agreed to, and when you left or asked to be erased.
- Usage records: which model answered and what it cost. No message content.
- If you sign in at evachat.app/app: your Discord ID and name, and a sign-in cookie.
Eva keeps no person pages or profiles of members. What she remembers is the group's chat, not files on people.
Why, and on what basis
The data is used only to run Eva for your group: answering, remembering, reminders, and pictures or web search if the admins turned them on.
The legal basis for your messages is your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)), given when you press Join. You can withdraw it at any time with Leave or Forget me. That doesn't make what happened before unlawful. The billing details of the person who pays are handled under our contract with them (Art. 6(1)(b)). The record of when you joined, left or asked to be erased is kept so we can show we followed your choice (Art. 6(1)(c)).
Other people in your messages
What you write can be about people who never joined. Eva keeps it as part of your message. Please don't tell her sensitive things about other people, such as their health, beliefs or sex life. Anyone, joined or not, can email us to have messages about them removed.
Who else processes it
- Discord, where the messages come from.
- Hetzner, the server in Nuremberg, Germany, where everything is stored.
- OpenAI, which writes Eva's replies and memory summaries, and runs web search if it is on. OpenAI does not train on this data.
- OpenRouter and Google, only if drawing is on: they make the pictures. OpenRouter also writes voice transcripts, only if voice is on.
- Cloudflare, which hosts this website and forwards email sent to us. The site loads its fonts from Google Fonts.
- Stripe, through its Link service, which sells the subscription and handles the billing details of the person who pays. It never sees the chat.
They process the data only to provide their service to us. Some are outside the EU. Transfers rely on their standard contractual clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
Leave, or erase everything
Leave (/eva leave, or the dashboard) stops Eva reading you at once. What she already kept stays until you erase it. You can join again later.
Forget me (/eva forget, or "Erase everything" at evachat.app/app) stops Eva reading you at once, and within 24 hours deletes:
- your messages in her channels (they show as removed in the chat)
- your DMs with her
- the images and files you sent
- what she learned from you: memory summaries are rewritten without your lines
- the backup copies kept beside the data
Forget me does not reach other members' messages that mention you or Eva's own replies. If you want those removed too, email us and say which. You can join again after 24 hours.
Already left the server? Sign in at evachat.app/app with Discord and erase from there.
How long
Until you erase it, or until the group stops using Eva. When a group stops, its data is deleted within 30 days. Backups roll over within a further 30 days.
Your rights
You can ask to see what Eva has about you, get a copy, correct it, have it deleted, or object to it being kept, even if you are not the person who pays and even if you never joined. Email hello@evachat.app with your Discord username. We answer within 30 days. You can also complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY), imy.se.
Age
Eva is for people 18 and older. Only members who confirm they are 18 or older can join, and members we know are under 18 are blocked from joining. If you think someone under 18 has joined, email hello@evachat.app and we erase them.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, the date above changes and server admins are told.
